Taylor Swift Touches Hearts by Meeting Families of Southport Stabbing Victims Before Her Eras Tour Concert

In photos posted to TikTok by one mom who met the pop star with her daughters at Wembley Stadium over the weekend, Swift poses with the two girls and gives both of them hugs backstage. The older girl appears to wear a bandage covering her left forearm, while both young Swifties sport Red-themed T-shirts. In other photos, the little girls smile next to Swift’s mom, Andrea.

“You drew stars around my scars 🥹 ….,” the mom wrote in her caption. “The biggest thankyou to @Taylor Swift and her mum for making the most magical night possible for us all 🫶 thankyou for bringing Hope & Autumn pure happiness last night & always .”

Swift hosted multiple families impacted by the tragedy before stepping on stage at Wembley, where she’s slated to play five final shows before closing out the European leg of her Eras trek.

On July 29, a 17-year-old knifeman targeted a Swift-themed dance and yoga event for children ages 6 to 11 in Southport, killing three young girls and injuring eight more children as well as two adults — including 35-year-old instructor Leanne Lucas, who was recently readmitted to the hospital, according to the BBC. U.K. police has since charged the teenager with murder and attempted murder.

The 14-time Grammy winner has not addressed the attack on stage, but she did release a statement shortly after it occurred. “The horror of yesterday’s attack in Southport is washing over me continuously, and I’m just completely in shock…” Swift wrote at the time. “The loss of life and innocence, and the horrendous trauma inflicted on everyone who was there, the families and first responders. These were just little kids at a dance class. I am at a complete loss for how to ever convey my sympathies to these families.
